Painting with my son

As winter wraps its chilly arms around us, what better way to revel in the season than by huddling up with your little snow angels for some snowman crafting magic? Imagine a cozy scene: fuzzy socks, giggles that warm your heart, and a tabletop strewn with materials waiting to be transformed into frosty friends. It's time to dive into a winter wonderland of imagination, laughter, and, stay cozy warm while doing it!

For me, crafting with my kids during the holiday season isn't just about creating cute snowmen; it's about weaving a tapestry of memories. The scene is etched in my mind: little hands eagerly reaching for glue sticks, eyes lighting up as cottony snowflakes drift down, and the pure melody of laughter that fills our home. These crafting sessions have become more than a yearly tradition; they're the threads that stitch together the story of our family's holiday joy. I have notice my kids developing incredible skills at home and school, all because of these creative activities we explore together.

My Cherished crafting memories

Amidst the holiday rush, crafting becomes our sanctuary—a refuge from screens, schedules, and the frantic pace of the season. These moments aren't just about the final product; they're about the journey, the shared experiences, and the magic that happens when we bring our imaginations to life. Through crafting, my kids aren't just learning art; they're learning the art of patience, teamwork, and the joy of creating something from nothing.

So, as snowflakes dance outside our window, I invite you to grab your craft supplies, don your coziest sweaters, and embark on your winter crafting adventure. Let this season be about more than just festivities; let it be about the warmth that comes from crafting memories together. Happy crafting, and may your winter be adorned with the magic of shared creativity and the warmest snowman you have ever built! ☃️✨

  1. How-To:

  • Cut out a circle from cardstock. I like to use a paper plate to give me a good cirlce shape

  • place the circle cut out on top of your canvas and paint all around it

  • While the paint dries add you snowman details INSIDE of the circle like mountains or ice for your snowman to sit on

  • While that dries add branches to the background of the painting. OUTSIDE of the cirlce

  • While that dries add your snowman to the INSIDE of your circle

  • While that dries use a flatbrush to add pine needles onto your branches. Did the paint in half green/half white paint and drop onto your branches

  • Repeat this process for all of your branches, adding several pine needles

A message from the owner

"When I was a child, it felt like everyone had a team. There were the dancers, the sports kids and even the farmers. But where were the artists? We didn't have a group. Everyone, child and adult alike, deserve to have a team. We deserve to have a safe space to create and a wonderful community to create with! That's why I started US and Art. I hope we can connect our team and ignite our creativity!"
